Highland Cow
Meet Bò! Named for the Scottish Gaelic word for cow, she’s brings slow fashion and zero waste principles together in practice.
- Slow fashion prioritises quality over quantity, timeless designs, ethical production and mindful consumption.
Zero waste practices aim to minimise or completely eliminate fabric waste in the production process.
Kiltmaking definitely meets the definition of slow fashion but does create fabric waste through for example: thread snippets and horseshoe scraps of tartan from cutting out the pleats.
All Bò’s are made to order and stuffed with a variety variety of fabric waste naturally generated by the LJK studio. Plus a wee bit of sheep skin ‘hair’.
Zero Waste Bò - is made from tartan off cuts from the kiltmaking process. On placing your order our team will be in touch to show you what tartan options we currently have available.
Your Bò Your Way - is available in hundreds of tartans from leading British Textile mills. On placing your order our team will get in touch to confirm your tartan choice.
Please note that although she features safety eyes Bò is more suited as an ornamental or decorative piece than for play.
